Though it was tough work, I am thankful for the experience. It taught me the value of hard work and has helped me build the knowledge and experience I use everyday with guiding Graniterra and our wonderful team. John Parish

VP of Operations

Background

I spent the bulk of my career in the sporting goods industry (baseball equipment) with Worth and Rawlings for 26 years serving various operational roles from Distribution Manager to Manufacturing Director to VP of Manufacturing. I was responsible for worldwide manufacturing for Rawlings 12 years.

Why does John love working in this industry?

I enjoy creating and building something that brings joy to the customer. Stone is the equivalent of “Jewelry for the Home”.

What is John's favorite stone project from his entire career?

All projects regardless of size or scope are special to the customer. It is difficult to single out one in particular.

What are John's other creative outlets?

Family, Flying, Fishing, Hiking, and anything outdoors.

Tim Boyce

Business Dev Manager

Background

I have a degree in Drafting and Design, nearly 20 years’ experience in the custom cabinet and woodworking industry doing Drafting and Design, Estimating, Project Management, and eventually Business Development and Operations Management.

Why does Tim love working in this industry?

Left the custom millwork industry to explore a new challenge in Granite and Quartz Fabrication, as Commercial Operations Manager with a leading Cambria fabricator, before joining Graniterra as Business Development Manager. My focus at Graniterra is to increase and expand its business opportunities custom builders, custom millwork companies, and with Designers. My ambition is to assist the Graniterra team in becoming St. Louis’s premier and preferred stone fabricator thru team development, expanding our customer base, and exceeding customer expectations on EVERY project.

What is Tim's proudest moment in his career?

During my career in custom cabinets and millwork, I managed a company that specialized in design and remodel of independent pharmacies. Our specialty was a turn-key service that provided for a store to close on a Friday, and reopening on Monday with a completely remodeled store. These included profound planning and coordinating of many sub-contractors and teams working around the clock and amongst each other. An added complication was being a national provider, we were working with unknown, but vetted companies in that given area. These turn-key remodels included gutting a store before Saturday morning, coordinating tradesmen on Saturday and into Saturday night, then installing new pharmacy specific cabinets and store fixtures on Sunday and restocking the shelves thru Sunday night. It took a small army of people, profound detail in coordinating efforts and trades, and being extremely proactive in tracking potential problems and delays. I managed this company for four years and loved having hair on fire and being a problem solver!

What are Tim's other creative outlets?

My creative outlets are carpentry projects at home and for family members, and building hot rod classic cars and motorcycles.

Justin Hulke

Director of Projects

Background

Graniterra is proud to have Justin Hulke as our Director of Projects. He has 19 years of experience in the stone industry and has been involved in every aspect of the business ranging from fabrication to installation to templating and measuring. He also has the unique experience of working in a quartz manufacturing facility where he learned the nuances of producing high quality stone reliably and consistently. Justin knows exactly what it takes to deliver a quality stone project and that is why we trust him to help fulfill our mission of Superior Service Always.

Why does Justin love working with stone over other materials?

I feel like the end result of most of our jobs/projects in the stone world really are works of art. As an installer for many years, I left the job with a sense of pride and satisfaction at finishing a quality job that will last a lifetime or longer.

What is Justin's favorite stone project from his entire career?

One job really stands out. I was part of the team to install a machine inside an underground mine in Vermont. This machine cuts all veteran tombstones for the entire US Military. As a former soldier, it was very exciting to be part of that project.

What are Justin's other creative outlets?

I have an extensive vinyl collection and DJ as a hobby. I also enjoy hiking/kayaking/camping and staying in touch with nature.

Abby has over 30 years of experience in sales, customer service, and business administration. Her experience spans several industries, all of which taught her valuable lessons that she still uses every day.

Why does Abby love working in this industry?

Home remodeling and the building trade in general tend to very unpredictable by nature. I love being able to overcome unforeseen obstacles and help our customers navigate through the process with a positive, proactive attitude.

What is Abby's favorite success story from her career?

I prefer to champion the success of others versus focusing on myself, so I guess my answer would be anything that helped my teammates!

What are Abby's other creative outlets?

I love video games, long road trips, building miniature structures, home improvement projects and spending time with my Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Tulip.

At this time we can pick up any sinks or faucets that are necessary to initiate fabrication.
Our process is automated since we use CNC technology to fabricate our jobs. We cannot commence fabrication unless all cut-outs (sinks and cooktop openings for example) are determined and programmed into our machinery.
If you have hired us to remove any existing countertops or disconnect any plumbing then we may choose to do this step at the time of template or right before installation. This is a determination that will be discussed with our production department before the template is scheduled.
